Cook & Company, Inc. names Michael Kogut as Director of Claims Recovery Division

Sept. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Cook & Company, Inc., a firm providing multi-faceted insurance services with an eye toward controlling costs, announced today that Michael T. Kogut, Esq. of Springfield, MA has been named to lead the firm’s Claims Recovery Division, which serves the municipal and private marketplaces.

Attorney Kogut brings more than three decades’ experience to his new position, including the high-profile position of being the state’s first Assistant Attorney General for Elder Protection under Attorney General Scott Harshbarger. He also served as Assistant Attorney General and Director of the Massachusetts Medicaid Fraud Unit and supervised a staff of eight Assistant Attorneys General along with forensic auditors and investigators in the Boston Attorney General’s office.

Kogut is also a former partner in the Boston law firm Murtha Cullina LLP. He holds a Juris Doctor from Western New England College School of Law, and a B.A. summa cum laude from Springfield College.

Kogut’s appointment was announced by Peter A.
