Teachers can not educate a child alone Ida Byrd-Hill, an educational activist, with an international reputation having appeared on TV & Radio shows and in newspaper & magazine articles, is giving away a Kindle e-book, Parenting for Academic Success. September 21, 2012 and September 22, 2012 to provide parents tips on how to prepare your child for academic success in any school system- urban, suburban or rural.
She was highlighted in Essence Magazine in a 3 page article titled, Helping our Children Achieve Excellence, May 2010 celebrating her educational advocacy as a single mother. having successfully navigated her twins through Detroit Public School’s to matriculate to Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a major in New Media/ Software Engineering and Western Michigan University pursuing a major in Marketing . Her son was recognized as one of the top scholarship recipients at DSA Graduation Ceremonies.
She wants to share her first-hand knowledge of solutions to the problems mothers face when they interface with schools and how they can initiate those solutions from home to prepare their children for Corporate America. Unlike most educational activist, she has experience in Corporate America having served in Executive Search, Finances, Human Resources and Sales for 20 years. She knows what Corporate America seeks to employ and how to prepare students for the real world.
