Akadema Endorser Brandon McCarthy Is The Oakland Athletics Finalist For The Roberto Clemente Award

Sept. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Hawthorne, NJ – September 20, 2012 – Akadema endorser Brandon McCarthy is the finalist for the Oakland Athletics for the Roberto Clemente Award.  The Award is given annually to recognize on-field achievement as well as sportsmanship and community involvement.  McCarthy is being recognized for his work for raising more than $18,000 for the Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross and Humane Society.  The money was raised to aid people and animals that were affected by the devastating fires in Colorado this past June.  McCarthy attended Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, CO.  For the season, McCarthy is 8-6, with a 3.24 ERA, and 73 strikeouts.  McCarthy uses a 12-inch, B-Hive Web, AMO 102 Shell, and is part of Akadema’s endorsement team.
