Create Magic this Christmas with a Magician
Warble Entertainment agency, which is primarily a music agency, has already noticed a sharp rise in entertainer bookings for the upcoming festive period and, in particular for magicians.
Warble Entertainment Agency, Cheshire, September 2012 – Warble is one of the UKs largest entertainment booking agencies and has been trading since 2007. Their roster covers everything from live bands to caricaturists and magicians to fire performers. The agency has recently worked alongside corporate giants American Express, Amazon and Ernst and Young to provide entertainers for their events and also books live entertainment for over 2000 weddings and parties each year.
Whilst it is not unusual for Christmas entertainers to begin getting booked up this early in the year, Warble Entertainment’
“Having looked at the number of bookings since we started trading in 2007, and taking into account any kind of natural increase due to repeat customers and general longevity, there has been a pretty dramatic increase in demand for magicians this year. In fact, it’s already almost doubled the figures from last year and we haven’t even hit high season yet.”
Warble offer a huge variety of magician, ranging from mix and mingle / meet and greet style acts who can wander amongst your guests, to contemporary street style magicians who can pickpocket and use everyday items to astound, and, stage / cabaret magicians who are able create vast illusions to amaze large audiences. “We think the close up walkabout magicians fit more comfortably into customer’s budgets and so this will undoubtedly be a key reason whilst everyone is tightening their belts these days. Also, winter weddings have seen their popularity grow immensely over the last few years, and as magicians have always been enjoyed as wedding entertainment it makes sense for their bookings to increase.”
Jennie goes onto say, “another possible and slightly more contentious reason for the increase in magician bookings this Christmas could be that people are looking to escape the media led gloom of reality and the constant news of economic crisis and credit crunch. And, what better way than to almost retreat to the childish notion of magic and its existence. A good magician will provide banter, distraction, interaction and certainly help their audience forget about the humdrum daily grind for a few amazing moments.”
It has been shown in studies relating to stress and mild depression that escapism, even for just a few short moments, can be enough to make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated and is one of the healthier ways to wear off the effects caused by such ailments. So, perhaps there is some credence to this argument.
Jennie also laughed and went on to say, “or, maybe we’re all just missing a little bit of magic in our lives since the Harry Potter saga came to an end and this is how everybody is compensating. One thing is for sure though, if you book a magician, whether it’s for a Christmas party or a wedding, it certainly isn’t going to do you any harm. And, if it helps you relieve stress or just have a good time then even better.”
