HEART UK and Splashpals Join Forces To Host A Barking Tea Party
Newfoundland lovers’ group Splashpals are hosting a Doggy Tea Party in Faversham this weekend as part of cholesterol charity HEART UK’s National Cholesterol Week.
Splashpals, who usually take their dogs to shows and swimming events, will be treating their canine companions to some delicious doggy cakes with healthy ingredients like liver, garlic and tuna to raise money for HEART UK, the cholesterol charity.
Jo Stephenson, a member of Splashpals and organiser of the Doggy Hearty Tea Party, said: “I wanted to help HEART UK as much as I could and because I work very closely with dogs it seemed like the perfect way to do it. I hope this will kick off a new craze of doggy tea parties!
“We are also serving cakes for the humans, too. Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for this fantastic charity.”
HEART UK Chief Executive Jules Payne said: “HEART UK love the idea of having a doggy tea party to raise cholesterol awareness. It is a great and unique idea for dog and animal lovers alike to join forces over National Cholesterol Week and help us beat Britain’s biggest silent killer.”
The Tea Party, which any dog is welcome to attend, will be held at the Brogdale Cider Festival in Faversham, Kent on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September.
Owners can pay just £1 to indulge their dog in this fantastic charity event.
