Over 300 jobs in the West available at Skillnets Jobs Fair in Galway

Sept. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Job-seekers are invited to register now to attend the free Skillnets Jobs Fair which will be held in the Radission Blu Hotel in Galway on Sunday 14th October. The event will feature over 30 companies who are actively recruiting to fill over 300 vacancies in the West.  Job-seekers can also attend free information seminars and career workshops with industry and career experts during the day.

The event will showcase job opportunities ranging from care assistants in the healthcare to product builders in the medical devices sector, quality engineers, marketing executives and financial services, amongst others.

Local companies who will be recruiting on the day include Bluebird Care, Goodman Medical, Microsemi Ireland, Johnson & Johnson, Acorn Life, Ericsson Athlone, HP, Multiflex, Solano Tech and Fidelity Investments.  Denise McCoy, HR Director of Microsemi Ireland says “Participation in the Skillnets Jobs Fair in Galway will provide Microsemi with an excellent opportunity to promote current job vacancies for our businesses in the West of Ireland.”

We offer training in technical skills, customer service skills, information technology, health and safety, communications skills, sales and marketing, social media, planning and strategy and finance.  We also run a very successful Job-seekers Support Programme (JSSP) which combines work placement with free training.  As part of this we offer a range of conversion programmes to help job-seekers acquire a qualification in a different discipline and potentially move into the growth sectors with jobs.  In 2011 over 50% of participants confirmed that the programme had helped them to re-enter employment or helped them develop skills in setting up their own business.”

The Skillnets Jobs Fair takes place Sunday, 14th October 2012 from 10am until 5.30pm.
