By: BeyondPR The Bionic Ear Show is Deafness Research UK’s educational, interactive and fun project that tours community venues and schools educating people about their hearing and how to protect it. The innovative show and hearing screening service, which has already reached over 75,000 children and adults, starts touring the North of England next week. From St Annes to Ripon, Darlington to Middlesbrough; The Bionic Ear Show is in the final of The National Lottery Awards 2012 – the annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects. A film on The Bionic Ear Show will feature on The National Lottery: Secret Fortunes on BBC One on Saturday 22 September. The Bionic Ear Show is competing against two other Lottery-funded projects to amass the highest number of votes to win a coveted trophy for Best Health Project and a £2,000 prize. Tanya Bukvic, Project Manager at Deafness Research UK, says: “We are thrilled that our work will be promoted to millions on national television. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to National Lottery players for their funding. It has made an important contribution to our work and helped us improve so many people’s lives. We hope National Lottery players recognise this and vote for us to win the Best Health category.” There are seven categories in the National Lottery Awards that reflect the main areas of Lottery funding: arts, sport, heritage, health, environment, education and voluntary/charity. The public are able to vote for their favourite projects in these categories until Sunday 28 October 2012 at www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/ End
