Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Chasing Paris is the debut novel for Jen Carter and is available through in both paperback ($9.99) and Kindle ($4.99) formats. A coming of age story set in modern day California, Chasing Paris follows the story of a recent college graduate, Amy Winthrow, as she learns of an estranged grandmother and sets out to discover why her family nearly erased this woman’s life from memory.

About her book, Carter stated, “I am excited to have released Chasing Paris.  This story has been building in my mind for thirteen years, and now I can share it with people who enjoy a little adventure, love, and mystery in the books they read.  What I hope most is that audiences relate to Amy’s journey—including the difficult decisions we all make when it comes to chasing our dreams.”

As readers delve into Chasing Paris, they will find that Amy’s life hasn’t gone quite as expected since graduating from college.  All that changes, however, when she receives a letter written from the deathbed of her grandmother, Elizabeth Hathaway.  With the help of an unlikely friend, Amy traces the steps of her grandmother’s life young adult life, beginning in 1950s Paris, and soon learns just how dangerous complacency can be—and just how quickly she needs to change her own path.

A review from Literary R&R said of Carter’s novel, “With nods to classic literature, Chasing Paris pulled me from cover to cover without effort. Amy, a disillusioned dreamer, finds new passion in tracking down the secrets of her newly found, and lost, grandmother. This is an amazing adventure, with romance and emotionally appealing characters. The family and their emotional investment in keeping the past hidden especially enriched the plot, as the reader can see the raw emotion of the ones involved and how their pain changed their lives, and of those to come. Highly recommend this heartfelt tale.”
