-- Boys & girls aged 7-10 who are interested in volleyball are encouraged to sign up for a 6-week clinic at Spectrum Athletic Clubs’ South Bay location. Taught by former USC Men’s Volleyball Assistant Coach Laura Ames, the sessions will be held on consecutive Sundays from Oct 7 - Nov 11 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Children of both members and nonmembers are invited to the clinic, which is designed to help beginning players develop fundamental skills including passing, spiking, serving, setting, blocking and defense. The clinic will culminate in fun and competitive games.
“This series of clinics will teach all the necessary skills to prepare kids for competitive volleyball,”
said Ames, who has more than 20 years of coaching experience. “Whether your child aspires to play in the Olympics one day or just wants to learn a new sport, these sessions are the perfect start.”
Cost is $149 per child for members and $189 per child for nonmembers. Single sessions are $30 and $35. To register, contact the Spectrum’s Kid’s Club at 310-643-6859 or email Mary Dunn at firstname.lastname@example.org. Spectrum’s South Bay club is located at 2250 Park Place in El Segundo. Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
