-- Las Vegas, Nevada-: Everyday, more than 160,000 children nationwide stay home from school to avoid being bullied. Not only are the effects of bullying on a child felt immediately, but they can also be lifelong- or even tragic. That’s why Nevada PEP is inviting all Nevadan’s to support the cause at its second annual Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying event on Sunday October 21st . October is National Bullying Prevention Month.
The Run Walk Roll event will take place simultaneously in Reno and Las Vegas. We are proud to announce the event will be held on the IGT property in Reno, and on the Tivoli Village property in Las Vegas. Let’s all Run, Walk, Roll to STOP Bullying in our schools. All children deserve to feel safe in their schools. Nevada PEP is taking steps to STOP bullying. Join Frankie Moreno, headliner at the Stratosphere as the Grand Marshal and Dawn Gibbons as the emcee in Las Vegas at beautiful Tivoli Village for this exciting community event.
All paid registrars will receive a complementary one of a kind Run, Walk Roll Bullying Prevention T-shirt. The early registration fee is a $25 donation for the 5K run. A $15 registration fee is required for the 1.5 mile Fun Walk. Children six and under are free.
“Bullying can lead to painful results not only for the youth who are bullied, but for the student’s who engage in it, the school, and the whole community,” said Retta Dermody, Director of Programs and Services.
“This is a very real and painful issue that kids are facing,” said Stephanie Vrsnik, Community Development Director. “But they don’t have to face it alone, and bullying can be prevented if we all work together.”
