Sept. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- STAMFORD, CT – The Fairfield County Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) today announced its new Board of Directors for 2012-2013.  The new Board has made a commitment to rekindle the spirit of the Chapter to help marketing professionals gain new skills to thrive in today’s marketplace, lead change, and improve marketing’s impact in their organizations.

Heading the new Board of Directors are newly elected President Richard Perrone, Program Director, New Routes Marketing, at IBM, and newly elected Vice President Louise Stix, Adjunct Professor at Norwalk Community College and the Managing Partner of Cerulean Communications.  Cerulean Communications helps companies develop and communicate their value propositions and points of differentiation.

Joining Mr. Perrone and Ms. Stix are a team of seasoned marketing professionals: Ko-Chen (Jane) Shan, Category Manager at Conair Corporation, a global consumer and beauty product, kitchen and appliance company; Tom Fryman, Owner/President of The Fryman Group, a market research firm; Dr. Frank E. Moriya, President of Premier Education International, a global educational consulting firm; and Randy Savicky, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strategy+Communications, a public relations and inbound marketing agency.

“I’m delighted to be leading the Fairfield County AMA,” said Mr. Perrone.  “We have a unique opportunity to make sense of new marketing tools and practices that will reenergize our roles.  Change is constant, and the complexity of marketing has grown. This challenges us to prove the value of marketing in new ways.  We will ask our members to join with us in evolving our chapter mission to focus on relevance – connecting local marketing professionals in a common business dialogue to raise the bar on how we all deliver value.”

Upcoming Programming
This fall, the AMA of Fairfield County will launch a “Getting Social” series of workshops to understand how to apply social media, but also to help marketing professionals connect with other colleagues across Fairfield and Westchester counties.  A joint holiday party is being planned in early December that will bring together other organizations that share in the creative economy.

Your Chance To Get Involved
The Board is actively seeking marketing professionals that wish to volunteer and engage in shaping the future of the organization.  Volunteering for the AMA has two key benefits -- getting to know and share expertise with like-minded professionals and having fun.  If you have experience in website design and content management, marketing event planning and membership retention, please contact Randy Savicky at 203-226-6156 or randy@strategypluscommunications.com (http://www.strategypluscommunications.com).
