Hawaii Vacation in The Garden Island
Travel to Kauai and discover lush, wild jungles; pristine, tropical beaches; tranquil rain forests; and rugged untouched, green mountains. Kauai holds an abundance of natural, untamed treasures. You’ve probably seen Kauai on the silver screen as the lush, Eden-like backdrop for hundreds of famous films. Experience Kauai in person, for the camera’s lens will never capture its true beauty.
Kauai is considered by many to be the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands because of its lush, tropical rain forest, desolate moonscapes and more than 40 spectacular beaches.
From the Na Pali Coast to Waimea Canyon, there are miles of dirt paths to hike, rivers to kayak, and beaches to explore.
Some of Hawaii’s best golf courses are found on Kauai, including the Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course known from the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and the Prince Courses at the Princeville Resort.
Appropriately dubbed the “Coconut Coast,” Kauai’s East Side is dotted with clusters of coconut trees. Wailua, a sacred and significant place, is accented by Wailua River and old world charm. Take advantage of all its offerings — the Wailua River State Park, Fern Grotto, Wailua Falls, and other gems. The golden sand beaches of the Coconut Coast are its biggest draw. Be sure to find time for a leisurely stroll through Kapa’a Town and its funky and fine items, including some great Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha-print shirts, jewelry and fine art objects.
The gateway to all of Kauai’s wonders, Lihu’e is where you’ll likely arrive first, via plane or cruise ship. Lihu’e offers much in the way of culture — Hawaiian music and hula performances, heritage festivals and the Kauai Museum. Championship golf courses, great restaurants, and a beach that is paradise for surfing, swimming, and boogie boarding are all a part of the Lihu’e and the adjacent Kalapaki areas.
