Follow on Google News | Grantham University Named Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs MagazineGrantham University is pleased to announce that it has been named a 2013 Military Friendly School by GI Jobs. This is the fourth consecutive year Grantham has received this recognition.
The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list highlights the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace military education and America’s military service members and veterans as students. “Grantham University is honored to receive this recognition,” The University offers a variety of online degree programs, support services, and scholarships, including a Textbook and Software Grant program, for military members, veterans, military families, and wounded warriors. Grantham University is one of a select few offering full benefits for wounded warriors. Unlike some scholarships which are restricted to residents within a specific state, the Military Severely Injured scholarship is open to any student in any location who meets the eligibility requirements. In addition, there is no limit the number of scholarships awarded. The 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools ® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide. For the second year, G.I. Jobs incorporated a survey of student veterans. Grantham University’s student veterans gave the University an overall rating of 3.6 out of 4. Students were surveyed in the following areas: veteran services, school resources, faculty, environment and career services. Thanks to flexible, relevant, cost-effective and 100% accredited online degree programs geared to the unique circumstances of its students, Grantham has been recognized for five consecutive years as one of the top military-friendly universities in the country. Additionally the University was recognized by the Missouri Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in August for its outstanding support of National Guard and reserve employees. The University received three awards: the Pro Patria award, the Seven Seals award, and the Above and Beyond award.
