By: Dalet Gallery Carrier Pigeon is an artist-run publication of illustrated fiction and fine art. Four times a year they put creative control into the hands of the contributing writers, illustrators, fine artists and designers in order to promote respectful interdisciplinary collaboration. The results are organic, collaborative, and quickly evolving compositions featured alongside full portfolios of contemporary work by fine artists from an unrestricted demographic range. Their core belief is that loyalty to each artist's personal vision, without regard to current trends, provides the best environment in which to collaborate on fully personal work. The main goal of this journal is to provide a magazine that is, in itself, a piece of artwork. Select works include Bill Maxwell’s large-scale modern abstractions and Evan Summer’s foreboding architectural pieces. Delicate renderings from Sara Sanders complement Bruce Waldman’s relatable characters, while surrealist etchings from Justin Sanz and Rie Hasegawa create a world particular to each artist. The multi-faceted works of Ellen Peckham expand beyond a single medium. Artist Driven 2 is a unique collection of artists from across the world. This exhibition explores printmaking, sculpture, painting, and collage with the intention of celebrating the release of Carrier Pigeon’s third issue of Volume II and the overall success of the first two volumes of this multidisciplinary publication.
