Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University welcomes new learners during e-orientation week

Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU), a leader in the field of e-Learning and quality management in the Arab World, has recently concluded its orientation week to start the new term of the 2012-2013 academic year. Most of the orientation activities were held online on HBMeU’s e-campus, using tutorial videos, while a one-day orientation was also organized for new students in the presence of administration executives from different departments and faculty of all academic programs at the university's campus in Dubai Academic City.

HBMeU also announced that the Learners Council (LC) will have a more prominent location starting this year at the ground floor of the university. This allows easy access for new learners, who can then meet members of the HBMeU LC and other active learners, and sign up to volunteer in various events organized inside and outside the university.

HBMeU Learners Council (LC) has also introduced a new program wherein senior learners are tapped to guide new learners in their university life. The program particularly targets freshmen who have recently graduated from high school and are new to university life.

Dr. Ibrahim Mahmood Bin Abdelrahman, Vice Chancellor, HBMeU, said: “HBMeU organizes the orientation week to help students adapt to the university's e-Learning environment and enable them to have a truly productive learning experience. It is also a great opportunity for the students to learn more about various opportunities, facilities, training programs and services that the university is making available to students. Moreover, this is an excellent activity that promotes healthy interaction and communication between students, teachers and the university's staff.”

HBMeU is the first e-learning institute in the Arab World that was established with the vision to develop a new learning process through the implementation of learning practices characterised by flexibility, quality and diversity to strengthen self-leadership among learners and prepare them socially and academically for a future career through integration in the job market.
