Follow on Google News | Legends Golf & Country Club Donates Elevator to GoodwillMost donations to Goodwill come in the form of clothing, housewares, electronics, and vehicles. However, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida just received a more unique donation-- an elevator-style wheelchair lift.
“They called us and explained that they’d purchased the elevator to use for their stage, but had never once needed it,” explains Kirsten O’Donnell, Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations. “We’ O’Donnell explains that Goodwill has needed to rent similar lifts in the past: “Because a large part of our mission includes helping people with physical disabilities, we’ve used wheelchair lifts at luncheons and at our school’s graduation. It’s nice to know that now we have our own to use.” Legends estimates the value of the wheelchair lift at $2,500.00. “We were pleased to donate the elevator lift to Goodwill,” says Ranai Frazier, COO and General Manager of Legends Golf & Country Club. “By donating to the Goodwill mission, we’re happy to be impacting programs and people in our community.” Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida serves Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry & Glades counties by providing programs and services for people with disabilities and other disadvantages. In addition to accepting clothing, housewares, and other retail items, Goodwill also accepts larger donations, including furniture and vehicles. To arrange a pickup of a large item, please call (239) 652-1600 or visit the agency’s website at http://www.goodwillswfl.org End
