Sept. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- HOUSTON – Five litigators from the Houston complex litigation and intellectual property law firm Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing P.C., also known as AZA, are being recognized among the nation’s top lawyers in the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

The AZA attorneys named to the exclusive Best Lawyers guide are Joe Ahmad, John Zavitsanos, Demetrios Anaipakos, Amir Alavi and Sean Gorman. All five attorneys were selected based on their work for clients in commercial litigation matters.

To compile the annual publication, Best Lawyers conducts a rigorous, peer-review survey that includes more than 4 million confidential evaluations by other lawyers. Best Lawyers, the oldest peer-review publication in the legal profession, is widely considered the top guide to U.S. lawyers.

“We’re honored to be named to Best Lawyers, as we strive to be the best trial lawyers our clients can find,” says Mr. Zavitsanos, a founding partner of AZA. “Our lawyers are known for finding creative and aggressive solutions in complex litigation and intellectual property cases, whether we’re called when trouble is just starting or on the eve of trial.”

Mr. Ahmad has been recognized nationally as one of the best lawyers in his field and was elected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite group of the country’s leading judges and civil trial lawyers. He is consistently named one of the Top 100 lawyers in Texas in the annual Texas Super Lawyers list.

Mr. Zavitsanos has been Board Certified in civil trial law since 1997 by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In 2008, he was one of six lawyers from the Houston area elected to the advocate level of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), one of the most selective trial lawyer organizations in the country.

Mr. Anaipakos represents plaintiffs and defendants in high stakes complex commercial litigation and intellectual property cases in the U.S. and abroad. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been on the Texas Super Lawyers list since 2004.

Mr. Alavi represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation throughout the United States. Before joining AZA, he was the general counsel of a privately-held company with more than 5,000 employees. While there, he managed the mergers and acquisition department and handled several acquisitions of public and private companies.

Mr. Gorman has extensive experience in complex business litigation and arbitration matters, including contract, fraud, energy, real estate and intellectual property cases, for both plaintiffs and defendants.

Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing P.C., or AZA, is a Houston-based law firm that is home to true courtroom lawyers with a formidable track record in complex commercial litigation, including energy, intellectual property, securities fraud, construction and business dispute cases. AZA is one of only 32 firms in the U.S. to be recognized as “awesome opponents” in a nationwide poll of corporate general counsel who were asked to name the law firms they hope their companies never have to face in court. In fact, AZA has been hired on many occasions by the same companies the firm has prevailed against at trial. Read more at http://www.azalaw.com.
