Sept. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- New Generation Publishing has announced that Alan Keen from Raunds in Northamptonshire and Paul Wilson from Bridlington in East Yorkshire have been selected as co-winners to write alternative endings to TRANSFORMERS, which is the unique science-fiction sequel to EARTH2 by David Diprose.

As the book is about alternative worlds, it seemed only fitting to select two authors from the long-listed submissions to write alternative endings for the story, and for readers to decide for themselves which ending they prefer.

In the first half of the story, an ex-military man, Daniel is chosen to be part of a team colonising a planet in a parallel universe found near to Earth. His job is to set up a transceiver network on the new colony. When the transport links between the two worlds break down and their means to travel between this new world and Earth are removed, tough decisions need to be made.

Daniel remains in Rhino Hill on the new planet and tries to make the best of the situation as one of its early pioneers. The Rhino Hill gang vote to allow him to stay. A relationship between Daniel and another colonist named Anna develops and she falls pregnant. When travel links resume between the two parallel worlds, the colonists need to decide whether to stay in Rhino Hill or go back to Earth. This is where the second half of the story picks up.

In winning this literary competition, Alan Keen and Paul Wilson will both be awarded a traditional publishing contract for writing their climatic endings to TRANSFOMERS, and they will be credited as co-authors of the book once it’s published, and both will receive one-third of the royalties.

New Generation Publishing would like to thank all those who entered the competition, which proved to be a real creative challenge for those who enjoy writing. The winners were decided on the quality and originality of their writing, continuity with the storyline, and character development.

The literary competition was open to authors from all genres and all ages.  The winners will receive full editorial support from the NGP team and this co-authored book will be sold into bookshops in the UK and USA by New Generation’s professional sales representatives.
