-- Rising fast toward the bright lights of fame and success like the mythical bird that shares her name, Danielle Marie “Phoenix” Green is about to take the industry by storm with her provocative edginess, dynamic range, and unmistakable star quality. From her explosive new raw and gritty mix tape, “Concrete Love,” Phoenix’s first single, “Took A Shot” is a mellow track about love getting the best of someone, while the title track, “Concrete Love,”featuring underground Boston rapper, Maine, is sexy street anthem about unapologetically loving a bad boy. “The songs tell my story and it’s the only way I know how to tell it, “ Phoenix says about her brutally honest style. “Sure, I can do the sweet stuff, but I want to show people who I am. I feel like men and women will be able to relate, especially men. I’ve been getting a lot of feedback from people telling me the mix tape is crazy because it’s straight up, in your face, and not sugar coated.”
After hearing several tracks Phoenix had recorded, Beast Modez record label owner and NFL star Raheem Brock knew the talented young artist was perfect for his roster and offered her a shot. “I ended up signing with Beast Modez because Raheem proved to me he really wanted to see my career take off,” says Phoenix. “He started linking me up with songwriters and producers he knew in the industry.” With Phoenix’s passionate voice and songwriters Andrea Martin (Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige) and Corté Ellis (Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson), DJ Dilemma, and Timbaland’s producer, Whiz, contributing their expertise to“Concrete Love,” the mix tape undeniably proves Phoenix is a force to be reckoned with.
The New Single "TOOK A SHOT" breaks onto radio stations nationwide Sept. 25,2012. Stay tuned in for this goose bumps emotional love story from real life heart felt experiences by "PHOENIX"ladies listen and relate.
Dividing her time between New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Miami, Phoenix is hard at work writing and recording material for a full length album, and has set her sights on collaborating with some of the recording industry’s top producers like Kanye West, Sean Garrett, The Dream, and Rick Ross. Phoenix reflects on her fast-rising career: “This has all been a blessing. Five years ago I knew I’d be singing, but I didn’t think I’d be signed to Raheem Brock’s label or about to release a project like this one. I’ve worked really hard and everything I’ve dreamed of is coming true.”
