-- Simi Valley, Calif.--The Simi Valley Family YMCA is now open a half-hour earlier--5:30 a.m.--on weekdays to accommodate those members who want plenty of time to work out before their day begins. In addition, the Simi YMCA is introducing two early morning classes: boot camp and spin/core. Both classes begin at 5:35 a.m.
Boot camp, held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, combines cardiovascular, resistance, interval, circuit and plyometric training. The class is taught indoors and out. The spin/core class includes spin (cycling) and core exercises and are held Tuesdays and Thursdays.
"We were getting lots of requests from members to open earlier," says Diane Sanderson, Simi Y membership director. "Our early morning classes ensure that participants start their day off with an intense, adrenalin-filled experience. Our workout room is also open at 5:30 a.m."
Boot camp, spin/core classes, pool usage, access to exercise equipment and other workout programs are included in YMCA membership. The Simi Y is at 3200 Cochran Street in Simi Valley. For more information, call 805-583-5338.
