Sept. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- London, September 13th 2012 - Since the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Middle East has gone through very rapid changes. Before the Arab spring, women were often misrepresented in Middle Eastern media. But, now things are changing; The Shining Serpent, a novel written by a young Iraqi author seeks to change the misconception of the weak and helpless damsel in distress.

The Shining Serpent by M.A. Hadi is a tale taking place within the backdrop of a post Saddam Iraq. Set within the chaos of the American-Iraq 2003 invasion, The Shining Serpent follows the story of Sarah as she makes her way through the chaotic violence of Baghdad to find her lost son.

"I wanted to give hope to those in unfortunate situations. The novel tries to present a different portrayal of the often misunderstood middle-eastern woman. I hope what I am doing will encourage others to join me in destroying the old stereotypes," said Mr Hadi. The book is an example of recent developments in the rapid changing world of gender equality.

The heroine within this tale faces many obstacles, however through sheer will and self-belief, sets out to accomplish her goals and make her voice heard. The Shining Serpent is available as a paperback and ebook from most major retailers and from the official website:
