Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- LAKESIDE MI – Author and founder of The Divine Riches Project, Catherine Lenard, will launch new seminars that reveal expanded perspectives and solutions to bullying. Bringing together the concepts of two major back-to-back calendar events, PACER's National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and the Cathcart Institute's International Self-Awareness Month, the seminars will synthesize the relationship between latest research on psychological causes of bullying, self-awareness, and underlying universal principles.

Research recently cited by Psychology Today expert Mary C. Lamia Ph.D. found that the root of a bully's cruel behavior toward others is not based on low self-esteem, but shame, an underlying feeling that one's entire self is flawed. This originates from a deeply held belief of “not being good enough” and the fear that inadequacies will be exposed. Bullies project their shame as aggressive behavior that evokes shame in others.

A student of Dr. Brene Brown, University of Houston's noted shame and vulnerability researcher, reflected on a severe beating he received in a bullying incident. "I truly believed at that time that I deserved what had happened to me because I was gay. It was ultimately my fault because I was defective. I was not worthy of love and belonging. I now know what that was – shame."

Universal principles bring the crucial understanding that beliefs create experiences in one's everyday life that reinforce the same viewpoint. Culturally and self-defined beliefs originate viewpoints on appearance, acceptance, respect, money, education, intelligence, friends, family, love, etc.

Becoming aware of and elevating one's thoughts and feelings begins the shift of long-standing inner patterns. Whether one bullies themselves or others, The Bully Equation™ seminars will foster understanding – in plain language – of the relationship between psychological factors and hidden universal principles that are the keys to changing one's life. In an interview, Lenard said, “Knowledge and awareness are essential. Becoming aware of your inner Self can be the defining spark that begins profound life change regardless of how you are currently affected by the bullying equation.”

These enlightening seminars align with National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and International Self-Awareness month by: 1) illuminating the psychological factors behind bullying, 2) reinforcing the importance of self-awareness, 3) revealing universal principles and the power of the inner Self to create lasting change.
