American Conference on Diversity Golf Classic Winners Take the Prize & Raise About $90,000 for Youth
Golfers from throughout New Jersey teed off Sept. 6 at the 18th Annual American Conference on Diversity Pro/Am Golf Classic. Tournament winners took home non-cash prizes & the event raised nearly $90,000 for youth inclusion initiatives.
"Every stroke on the golf course changes a life of a Lead for Diversity participant forever," says Elizabeth Williams-Riley, President and CEO of the American Conference on Diversity.
Winner categories and sponsored team members include:
1st Gross, won by C.R. Bard, Inc. team: Scott Lowry, Frank Lupisella, Rich Rosenzweig, and Craig Smith ($1,600 in gift certificates)
1st Net, won by McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter LLP team: Kevin Galvin, Bill Gascligone, Brett Jones, and Mike Marone ($1,600 in gift certificates)
2nd Net, won by Goldberg Realty Associates team: Peter Busch, Bob Feld, Jeffrey Feld, and Kafi Ninako ($1,000 in gift certificates)
3rd Net, won by Lowenstein Sandler LLP team: David Ball, Michael Delianno, Baker Maddera, and Michael Rodburg ($600 in gift certificates)
Three individuals walked away with a total of $150 in gift certificates in the following categories:
Closest to the Pin (men): Scott Tesser, player on the RBC Wealth Management team
Longest Drive (men): Kafi Ninako, player on the Goldberg Realty Associates team
Longest Drive (women): Nancy Kaminski, player on the Atlantic Health Systems team
Bernie Flynn, president and CEO of New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company and NJM Bank, won the door prize: a 2011 season team-autographed New York Jets football.

Kessler, member of the American Conference on Diversity board of trustees. “The generous support of our sponsors sustains our efforts and will enable us to continue to work with schools, businesses, and communities to create environments that welcome diversity.”
This year’s Pro/Am Golf Classic was followed by an evening reception in which Edward B. Deutsch, Managing Partner, McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, was honored with the 2012 Thomas D. Sayles, Jr. Humanitarian Award. Sayles was a longtime American Conference on Diversity board member and initiator of the Golf Classic. The American Conference on Diversity is proud to pay tribute to his memory, humanitarian spirit, and commitment to social justice.
“The Thomas D. Sayles, Jr. Humanitarian Award is very meaningful to me as Tom was a great friend of mine. The Annual Pro/Am Golf Classic was a great day and I am honored to have been recognized by the American Conference on Diversity,” says Deutsch.
Deutsch has been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 1992, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers. Founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Somerset Hills Bank, Deutsch also chaired Governor Chris Christie’s Department of Banking and Insurance Transition Sub-Committee. In addition, he accepted the nomination of Governor Christie to be one of two public members of the newly created Red Tape Commission chaired by Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno. In October 2011, he was ranked number 10 on the NJBIZ Power 50 Banking List of the 50 Most Powerful People in Banking.

Formerly known as Anytown, NJ, Lead for Diversity has been a cornerstone of the American Conference on Diversity Youth Leadership Institute since 1995.
