By: Shaastra With footfalls of 20,000 each year, Shaastra is well-known for being one of the biggest and best technical fests in Asia and the first in the world to be ISO: 9001 certified. The 14th edition of the fest will be held from 5th to 8th January, 2013. Samparks are a series of workshops, events, lectures and qualifiers that are held at cities across India in an effort to bring Shaastra closer to everyone. Sampark Bangalore 2010 witnessed a 1000-strong participation from colleges across the city providing an interactive platform for some of the brightest minds of the city. This year, with new and improved events that assure wildcard entries, never before seen demonstrations and much more, Sampark provides an exciting preview of what lies ahead. The Bangalore edition of Shaastra Sampark will be held on 6th of September from 9 am to 5 pm at the B.N.M. Institute of Technology. Sampark Bangalore has the following events lined up: Puzzle Champ: A competition testing logic, reasoning and analytical skills, this Shaastra crowd-puller is the ultimate stage for the logician and analytical thinker to prove her / his mettle. The Sampark Quiz: It is the preeminent sci-tech quiz in South India, an annual battle for all science and technology enthusiasts. Desmod: A challenge for design enthusiasts to come up with an innovative 3D Design for a product keeping in mind its form, function, aesthetics and ergonomics. A real test of creativity and technical presentation skills. Sustainable Cityscape: A challenge to dream of a better city and come up with implementable and innovative solutions to urban problems keeping in mind the current scenario and future requirements in select rapidly growing cities of India.
