Leaders in Phlebology Meet to Discuss the Future of Vein Care

ACP Foundation Hosts Executive Leadership Summit to Chart Future of Phlebology

Sept. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- San Leandro, CA – September 4, 2012 – Corporate and individual donors to the American College of Phlebology Foundation (ACPF) met in Chicago, IL August 24-26, 2012 for the Vision for Tomorrow Executive Leadership Summit, a three day moderated meeting dedicated to discussing the future of phlebology over the next 5-10 years.

“This is the first summit of its kind for our specialty and it was tremendously successful in a number of ways,” stated one of the organizers, Dean Bender. “Not only were we able to develop innovative ideas of what our organization and the specialty will look like in the next ten years, but it was all done as a cooperative process between industry and individual stakeholders.”

Through moderated panels dealing with five specific topic categories – best practices, education, research, membership & retention and patient education – the 48 attendees shared their visions for the ACP, ACPF and  vein care over the next ten years. Out of these discussions a consensus document will be compiled, which will then be used in strategic planning for both the ACP and ACPF. The final document will be made available to ACP members at the 2012 Annual Congress, November 15-18, 2012 in Hollywood, FL.
