Sept. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Columbus, OH – September 10, 2012 – Synergi Salon [http://www.synergisalon.com], located in east Columbus, out-pitched dozens of hopeful entrepreneurs to become a finalist and ultimately win the investment interest of “Shark Tank” star, creator of FUBU clothing and billion dollar venture capitalist Daymond John at the “Pitch the Shark” Business Breakfast Luncheon sponsored by Mercedes Benz. The Wilson Group held the event on August 31, 2012 at the W Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia with featured panelists John Shark of Shark Branding and Nathaniel Bronner Jr. of internationally acclaimed B&B Beauty Products.

Creator of the Synergi system of hair care and Synergi Salon owner Karen Coleman and staff flew to Atlanta after their entry was selected to pitch ‘the shark’ and his panel of investors. Much like the hit ABC show “Shark Tank” there is no guarantee of investment dollars. Of the six finalists chosen to participate in the five minute pitch, Synergi was the sole company chosen by John and company as investment worthy.

“I am thankful to The Wilson Group for hosting such a great networking opportunity for entrepreneurs. The contacts and resources that we were able to connect with are priceless. From the responses, it also appears the women in Atlanta desire the same services locally that we offer in Ohio. The thought of spreading Synergi to the south is exciting!”

The natural hair care movement has caught on nationwide with women from all walks of life seeking products and education for living relaxer-free. In recent years products targeting these consumers have begun to crop up everywhere from direct online sales to big box stores and business leaders are beginning to notice. The 1.2 million dollar investment in NaturallyCurly.com - an online hair care community - is just the most recent example of business interest in this area of hair care.

“Spending by African Americans is poised to reach 1.5 trillion dollars in 2015, the buying power of the community is undeniable,” Abiona Harper, director of marketing and sales for Synergi said. “And Synergi is posed to take a big chunk of that by offering the healthy products, services and consumer education women are hungry for.”

While in talks with new investors, the ladies of Synergi aren’t resting on their laurels, they are deep into planning the launch of several new products in the fall to their Perfectly Me by Synergi hair care line.

“The number of women wanting alternatives to relaxers is steadily increasing. Women want other alternatives for natural hair besides curly styles and Synergi has the answer. Women and their daughters of our community have been very receptive to our approach to building healthy hair and we appreciate the support,” Coleman said.
