-- Thousand Oaks, Calif.--The Conejo Valley YMCA, serving Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and the Santa Rosa Valley, is seeking swim teachers, lifeguards, child-care teachers and aides. Swim teachers and lifeguards are needed at the Conejo Y facility at 4031 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. Child care teachers and aides are needed at Peach Hill and Mountain Meadows elementary schools in Moorpark.
"Our indoor swimming pool is open year round with swim lessons, exercise programs and our swim team," says Meghan Lopez, the Conejo Y's aquatics and child care director. "A lot of our aquatics staff can only work summers so we need additional personnel for fall, winter and spring." Lifeguards must be a minimum of 18 years old. Swim teachers must be at least 16. CPR and first aid certificates are required. Additional training will be provided.
Child care staff at the Conejo Y's child care after school programs in Moorpark must be at least 18 years old. CPR and first aid knowledge is required but training is available. "All aquatics and child care positions are part time and are flexible with school schedules," says Lopez.
