Military Intelligence Veteran Exposes Deadly Terrorism Scenario in Controversial New Novel

St Paul, MN – September 7th, 2012 – US military intelligence veteran Alan Thorne has just released The Tiger’s Tail, a controversial new novel depicting a real-world natural disaster scenario that is set in motion by terrorists. It’s now available on Amazon.com’s Kindle Store and available to Amazon Prime members for free.

“I understand the concerns some have expressed,” commented Thorne. “I ask that people take a look at the bigger picture here – there is plenty of information on La Palma and the danger of a tsunami on the Internet. It’s also been covered in documentaries on television. I am not the first to bring this potential disaster to the public’s view.”

The Tiger’s Tail (www.thetigerstailnovel.com) is now available on Amazon.com’s Kindle Store and tells the story of a state-sponsored terrorism cell conspiring to detonate seismic explosives on the volcanic island of La Palma, causing a large portion of the island to fall into the Atlantic Ocean.  The resulting mega-tsunami would rush toward and destroy the entire Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The controversy is rooted in the actual plausibility of the event occurring at the hands of terrorists.

Time Magazine® ran a cover story on tsunamis, explaining that scientists believe the collapse of a major part of La Palma island – should the volcano ‘El Cumbre Vieja’ erupt again – is entirely possible.

From the article:  “In the Canary Islands, the western slope of the Cumbre Vieja volcano poses a threat to Atlantic coastlines. Should it collapse, a scientist from University College London warned last week, the big splash would send tsunamis coursing through the Atlantic at hundreds of miles an hour. According to one nightmare scenario, cities up and down the East Coast would be swamped by waves as tall as five-story buildings.”

“Reuters News Service launched a press release, ‘Scientists Warn of Possible Atlantic Monster Wave,’” commented Thorne.  “The press release stated that should the volcano erupt, it would likely cause a massive chunk of rock to break off, crash into the sea, and kick up huge walls of water higher than any other in recorded history.  The mega-tsunami would be capable of traveling huge distances at up to 500 miles per hour.  That I put that scenario into the context of a terrorism plot is not going to cause some terrorist group to take action. And while the La Palma’s situation is real, this novel is a work of fiction.”
