Elvis Presley Enterprises Signs Brazilan Licensing Agent To Coincide With Exhibit Opening In Brazil
EPE signs Brazilan licensing agent to coincide with exhibit featuring more than 600 artifacts opened in SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL. The celebration of Elvis also includes the first South American performance of “Elvis Presley In Concert.”
The new exhibition includes over 600 rare artifacts, documents and photos, many of which have never left the vaults or exhibit areas of Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis. Priscilla Presley was on hand to officially open The Elvis Experience in São Paulo at the Shopping Eldorado Mall.
There are currently many Elvis Presley fan clubs in South America and Graceland has seen a steady increase in visitors from the country in the last several years. Currently, on Elvis’ Facebook page, Brazil ranks second behind the United States in number of fans.
BR Licensing is known in the market for among other clients, Garfield and Snoopy. They also handled the re-introduction of the Smurfs to Brazil after 20 years out of the market and TV. Current licensees include Playstation, MGA Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Precious Moments, Dunlop and Slazenger among others in such categories as apparel, accessories, publishing, back to school, toys, health and beauty, food, promotions in general and DTR deals with the retailers.

Among the items featured in The Elvis Experience are Elvis’ red MG automobile from his classic film “Blue Hawaii,” a gold plated rotary dial telephone from Elvis’ upstairs bedroom, and his signature white suit featured in the closing number of his 1968 television special now referred to as “’68 Special.” One of the most recognizable items in Brazil is one of the American Eagle jumpsuits Elvis used for the 1973 “Aloha from Hawaii” television special, the world’s first LIVE televised satellite concert.
In addition to the exhibition, South American fans will also be able to experience the closest they will ever come to a LIVE Elvis concert with “Elvis Presley in Concert” starting in Brasília on October 6, 2012. Concert-goers will see some of Elvis' finest performances projected on a large video screen, accompanied live on stage by a cast of singers and musicians who worked with him, a full orchestra, and additional singers and musicians.
