Washington, D.C. – Children’s author and Social Services professional, Aisha Williams, also known by pen name, Dee Wright, takes the leap of faith by leaving her job to start her own business despite the lackluster economic environment. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Business Employment Dynamics statistics, the number of new establishments rose in 2011 by 29,316, for the first time since 2006. Little Ruth, LLC has joined these ranks.

Professionals, like Williams continue to strike out on their own. Armed with research, mentors and a team of investors, Williams recently launched Little Ruth LLC, a children’s entertainment company and the publisher of the Little Ruth children’s book series. “The economic climate hasn’t been my greatest fear.  I’ve prepared myself accordingly and made this move cautiously. I’m also a consultant in my former line of work, which gives me a steady income. I have solid investors for the business and I’m extremely excited about my new venture as an author and the CEO of a children’s entertainment company,” says Williams.

Like many other professionals taking what some would consider an untimely leap, Williams is putting her experience to good use in her business and as a consultant. In recent years the state of the economy has changed the perception that jobs within the corporate landscape offer more stability. Professionals are using the skills they have acquired to launch ventures that they consider more fulfilling despite the potential decreases in earnings. Like Williams, they find ways to marry their experience with their passions and make sustainable a living where quality of life and the fulfillment of their dreams trump higher salaries.

Little Ruth, LLC will release the first of its children’s book series entitled, Halloween Drama Queen, on September 11, 2012. The second installment, The Peanut Butter Finger Mystery, is scheduled for release in the spring of 2013. In addition to the books, the company plans to offer children’s entertainment products.
