Sept. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- One of the major benefits of using a virtual bookkeeping system is the decreased cost when compared to hiring an employee.

Virtual bookkeepers are considered to be independent contractors, and they are responsible for keeping track of their own income and paying their own taxes (such as federal income tax, state income tax, and self-employment tax).

They are not eligible for benefits that might accrue to an employee (sick pay, vacation pay, and health insurance). They also provide their own office space and equipment, so that you are not paying for office space or equipment (such as a computer or telephone) for them.
