Carlos Beltran Foundation Raises $5000 auctioning “Cardinals” Painting by Artist Timothy Raines

Sept. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- An original artwork by sports artist Timothy Raines sells at charity auction for $5000, surrounded by the 2012 Cardinals Team signatures, beating previous sales of the artists art. Timothy Raines took the stage to auction the piece and the artist boosted the sale by donating to the winning bidder a second commissioned artwork of the St. Louis Hat Logo to the winner late in the bidding, adding an additional $800 to the total donation.

The artist is currently completing the remaining 19 MLB team logos by Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, a significant undertaking with a short time frame and many approvals needed by MLB on a painting-by-painting basis.  In order to raise resources and generate the awareness needed to complete the task, the artist launched a Kickstarter campaign that ends September 8, 2012.  Once all the teams are completed, MLB has agreed to display limited edition prints in the halls of MLB corporate headquarters.

Raines is honored to work with Carlos and the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals for this important cause. “St. Louis is a world class baseball club in a world class baseball city, I’m honored to be here with a top batter in baseball and to be a part of this event. Last years World Series win was nothing short of miraculous and to be with this 2012 contending team a year later is beyond exciting”.

Austin, Texas based artist Timothy Raines’ unique abstracts of sport logos have been licensed by Major League Baseball. To date, nine logos have been approved by MLB, including Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Chicago Cubs.
