Gibraltar’s Dusk Parties til Dawn on Opening Night

Sept. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Last Friday over 400 members of Gibraltar’s social set made their way down to Dusk for its Black & White Grand Opening Party.  Already described as “the best place in Gib”, the after dark hotspot in Ocean Village marina has certainly made an impact on Gibraltar’s nightlife scene.  

Nicola Copeland, Dusk’s General Manager, had this to say, “Expectations were high for our opening night, with a great buzz of anticipation in the build-up, but I genuinely believe we exceeded those expectations.  Feedback has been phenomenal and the grapevine is still full of Black & White Night chatter.  This tells us that Dusk is exactly what Gibraltar needed – a late night venue for those in their 30s who no longer wish to be surrounded by youngsters who’ve barely made it out of their teens.  I am looking forward to creating many more memories for our refined, classy clientele who like to dance, drink and mingle after dark.  Next stop – the Big Red & White Night on Sunday.”

Dusk added a touch of creative circus artistry to the night with trapeze stunts, fire dancing and golden-clad ladies deftly pouring champagne for guests - whilst hanging upside down.  The champagne flowed freely – in both senses of the word – and Dusk’s Opening Night White Russian cocktail (black kahlua and white cream with a dash of vodka) was given an all-round thumbs up.  Music came courtesy of Southern Impact, a rock, pop, funk, soul and disco duo who are as used to the Marbella scene as they are in London’s hottest bars.  Meanwhile, resident DJ Sergio kept the inside atmosphere lively ‘til late.

Open from 10pm ‘til late, as late as 8am, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dusk offers over 50 kinds of champagne alongside a creative cocktail list.  Its waterfront terrace, overlooking Ocean Village’s superyachts, has an exotic and sensual flavour with oversized day beds for night lounging accessorized with opulent Moroccan soft furnishings.  Inside, the intricate mosaic-tiled bar leads to the dance floor with glass cut-outs lighting up the marine life swimming below.
