-- JD Knight Associates, based in Preston, have announced that they are opening an office in Spain to deal with an influx of enquiries from timeshare owners who desperately want to be freed from restrictive contracts. Often timeshare weeks and points were sold ‘in perpetuity’ and with very strict terms meaning that people are still liable to keep the weeks and pay ever increasing maintenance fees even if they cannot afford them or even use them anymore.
It is hoped that this new office will provide a base, with both English and Spanish speakers, to effectively liaise between timeshare owners and the management at timeshare resorts so that, through economies of scale, clients have a greater bargaining power to give their weeks back without redemption penalties or, even worse, a straight “no” from the resort. Also, being based in the country where the contract was signed and being able to speak the local language it is hoped that the process should be much less complex.
