Free Digital Marketing Workshop to Teach New Rules of Google

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- MESA, AZ--When Google+ merged with Google Places earlier this year, Google+ Local was formed. Google changed the rules to their ranking game, leaving many local businesses unaware of how to find search engine success.  

Titaneer, a digital marketing company in Mesa devoted to “Engineering the Titans of the Web,” wants to change that through the old adage, “knowledge is power.”

Titaneer will host a free Local Social Marketing Workshop at their Mesa offices to teach businesses the new Google rules and how to create a local social strategy to benefit from the connection between local search and social media.  

In the wake of Google’s integration of Google Plus and Google Places into Google+ Local, a Local Social strategy has become key in local business’ success, Titaneer project manager Dan Desmond said.

“When Google first announced they’d be merging Google Places with the Google+ network, we saw a huge opportunity,” he said.  “We went back to the drawing board to develop a new strategy for local businesses that combines social activity with local directory listings.”

Titaneer’s workshop will highlight how to construct a local social media strategy to  meaningfully connect and engage with customers and prospects, establish credibility as local experts and spread the word.

“It’s all about getting found,” Desmond said, and added that any business not aware of the changes that resulted from Google+ Local can be hurt in Google rankings.  “We can show them how to play by the rules and get found.”

Desmond recommends this test for small business owners who are unsure about attending: Search for your business type and location on Google (Ex: Dentist Mesa AZ).  Look at the results on the first page of the Google Map-- are you there?  

“If not, then you should be here,” Desmond said.

The free workshop will be at Titaneer’s offices, located at 1930 S. Alma School Road, Suite B210, Mesa, on Wednesday, September 5th, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
