I'm not the type of person that is gadget or technically oriented so when it came to receiving an e-reader I was very skeptical. I fought the notion of reading on a hand held device verses holding an actual book in my hand. I have to say I'm very pleased and surprised, I'm enjoying it immensely.

It took me a while to figure things out as there were no instructions other than a brief orientation in the box. While there is a tutorial on the Kindle itself I couldn't actually read it until it was charged and the Kindle was registered. If you're challenged by electronics' like I am you'll want to read it.

The more I familiarize myself with the Kindle Paperwhite the more I like it. The downloading of books is easy and fast from either the Amazon website or the Kindle itself. The Kindle Paperwhite screen is super sensitive so the lightest touch turns the page. How ever I would recommend getting a non-glare (matte) screen protector to keep the screen free of finger prints and scratches and some type of case or cover unless you like the feel of it without any thing on it.

I really like the ability to change the font size. With diminishing eye sight that is a huge bonus. It's nice to be able to set the Kindle down and walk away and it will put itself to sleep after a few minutes which conserves on battery life without having to constantly turn it on and off. It automatically holds your page as if you book marked and will resume to that page when you return to reading. The dictionary is a nice added touch especially if there is an unfamiliar word and you want to know the meaning of it as well as being able to highlight passages you want to save. It's small enough that it will fit in most women's purses and it saves lugging around a bulky book. Some thing I really like is the screen is easy to view in bright light and doesn't cause eye strain. The menus are easy to access as well with either touching the top of the page or returning to the home page.
