Follow on Google News | Filipinos push their limits for a chance at being the next TFCkat grand champion`Pinoys' from all walks of life join the first worldwide talent show's Japan auditions
Highlighting the day 1 of the auditions last August 18 was a 17-year old boy Renlar Kenji who could sing as well as he can dance even without formal training. On the same day, a nurse, Tomohiro Cortes – Asakawa showed the audience that she can provide comfort to the sick as well as she can sing. Meanwhile, ‘Pinoys,’ mostly singers joined the day 2 or August 19 auditions. The youngest contestant at 12 - Shiho Patromonio Sugiyama - showed her singing prowess even when she hardly knew any Filipino word. Her mother admits they subscribed to TFC in order for her daughter to learn Filipino. Another contestant, a 30-year old male, Seishu Raul Arakaki sang his heart out in Japanese. While he was born in the Philippines, he has been in Japan all his life so he also hardly knew any Filipino words, much less, Filipino lyrics. TFCkat is open to a Filipino or an individual who has a Filipino lineage and who is 12 to 50 years old as of May 1, 2012. During the TFCKat competition, the contestant can showcase his ability whether in singing, dancing, acting and other talents. Interested parties can join TFCKat by preparing a 3-5 minute routine in video format and uploading the said video on www.tfckat.com; More Filipinos in Japan can still have a chance to join as TFCkat auditions will be held on September 1 at the TFC booth at the Barrio Fiesta; September 2 at the Shizuoka prefecture; September 23 at the Gifu region. Registrations start at 10am while auditions start at 1pm.
