Filipinos push their limits for a chance at being the next TFCkat grand champion

`Pinoys' from all walks of life join the first worldwide talent show's Japan auditions

Aug. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Filipinos from all walks of life in Japan joined the two-day auditions of TFCkat in Nagoya and Osaka, Japan last week.  For a chance to win the first and only worldwide talent show that truly brings together ‘Pinoys’ from the four continents where there is The Filipino Channel (TFC), males and females as young as 12 joined the auditions at the two cities.

Highlighting the day 1 of the auditions last August 18 was a 17-year old boy Renlar Kenji who could sing as well as he can dance even without formal training.  On the same day, a nurse, Tomohiro Cortes – Asakawa showed the audience that she can provide comfort to the sick as well as she can sing.

Meanwhile, ‘Pinoys,’ mostly singers joined the day 2 or August 19 auditions.  The youngest contestant at 12 - Shiho Patromonio Sugiyama - showed her singing prowess even when she hardly knew any Filipino word.  Her mother admits they subscribed to TFC in order for her daughter to learn Filipino.  Another contestant, a 30-year old male, Seishu Raul Arakaki sang his heart out in Japanese.  While he was born in the Philippines, he has been in Japan all his life so he also hardly knew any Filipino words, much less, Filipino lyrics.

TFCkat is open to a Filipino or an individual who has a Filipino lineage and who is 12 to 50 years old as of May 1, 2012. During the TFCKat competition, the contestant can showcase his ability whether in singing, dancing, acting and other talents.  Interested parties can join TFCKat by preparing a 3-5 minute routine in video format and uploading the said video on www.tfckat.com; submitting his or her video via youtube.com and sending the link to the TFC Facebook page together with a filled out registration form that may be downloaded from www.tfckat.com; and participating in the live auditions like the ones held in Nagoya and Osaka.

More Filipinos in Japan can still have a chance to join as TFCkat auditions will be held on September 1 at the TFC booth at the Barrio Fiesta; September 2 at the Shizuoka prefecture; September 23 at the Gifu region.  Registrations start at 10am while auditions start at 1pm.

The Grand Winner for each of the six regions – U.S., Canada, Middle East, Europe, Australia, Japan and other parts of Asia-Pacific will take home cash prize, a slot in the televised audition for a singing competition broadcasted on Philippine television, round-trip tickets for 2 to Manila, Philippines with free accommodations*, and a chance to appear and perform in TFC Connect.

With the mission of championing the Filipino values and culture all over the world, TFC is set to pave the way for the next worldwide ‘Pinoy’ singing sensation.

TFCkat is brought to you by TFC.  TFC is available in Japan via cable, satellite, video-on-demand, online and mobile service.
