FreeFlashFiction.com to Host Monthly Flash Fiction Writing Contests

Aug. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- The editors at Free Flash Fiction have announced that they will be hosting monthly creative writing contests, starting with September 2012. Each month will have its own unique theme, giving writers something new to write about each month.

The first contest will open for entries on September 1st with a deadline of September 24th. The first winner will be announced on September 28th. The theme for September's contest is "time travel."

Since Free Flash Fiction is a magazine focused on flash fiction, each writing contest will call for flash fiction entries of 200-1000 words.

The editors of Free Flash Fiction intend to keep all features of the magazine free, so there is no entry fee for the monthly contests. Because of that, there will be only a small first prize of $10. But the more important award for the winner is the right to call him or herself an award winning author. The winning story will also be published at freeflashfiction.com and in an upcoming digital anthology.

Free Flash Fiction supports new authors and welcomes submissions from anyone, regardless of past publishing history.
