Spoken Word Revolution moves to Downtown Orlando
To start its 3rd year, Spoken Word Revolution moves its monthly show to Café Annie, in the heart of Downtown Orlando.
For the past three years, Spoken Word Revolution has provided Central Florida poets with a place to unwind and truly express themselves. It has become the event that the community looks forward to attending.
Started by Nasstassia Sitze, also known as Society’s Poet, Spoken Word Revolution has given the Central Florida community a newfound love and respect for the art of spoken word. Celebrating its 3-year anniversary at The Majestic Theatre, loyal fans got to learn of the move to Café Annie in the heart of Downtown Orlando. The show is well known throughout the nation, and this move will only serve to catapult its status.
Society’s Poet has featured some major names in the spoken word industry. Internationally known and established Maximus Parthas and Tribal Raine, have 10+ years in the industry, were nominated for the highly honored “Queen City Poetry in Motion” Award in 2008, and won the “2008 Best Feature” Award from the Nashville Soul Food Poetry Cafe Organization. Two time Grammy Nominated Queen Sheba, who is the only African – American woman to found an international multi- day poetry festival in Virginia: “Word Up!” and founder of women for positive change movement: “The Sistah Cypher”. And Natasha T. Miller, who in Dec 2011 was the #5 ranking female slam poet in the world, as well as the author of two books, “Dreams of a Beginner” and “Coming out of Nowhere”.
Ticket Prices can be purchased for $8 online at www.spokenwordrevolution.net, $5 at the door before 10:00 p.m., and $10 at the door after 10:00 p.m.
