BBQ Event to Raise Funds for Earthquake Retrofit and Repairs to Mission San Antonio de Padua

Meet the Cast and Crew Filming the California Mission Ride Documentary
 
Aug. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- KING CITY, CALIF. – The Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua Board of Directors is hosting a Celebration to Save Mission San Antonio Benefit BBQ on Friday, September 14, 2012 to help raise funds for the preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua, which without proper retrofitting, upgrades and repairs faces certain closure. Tickets are $35 per person, $45 at the door, and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio.

The Benefit BBQ event is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mission San Antonio de Padua located at the end of Mission Road in Jolon, Calif. The wood-roasted BBQ chicken dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. and will also include pinto beans, salad, rolls, fruit, and dessert. Various local wineries will be pouring Monterey County wines while authentic, live music will be played in the Fiesta Grounds.

Attendees will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with Leslie Dunton-Downer, Gwyneth Horder-Payton and others from The California Missions Ride cast and crew who are filming a documentary about the 21 California Missions.  Their journey began in Sonoma on August 18, 2012 and will end in San Diego.  They arrive at Mission San Antonio de Padua to begin filming on September 13, 2012. About the Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio

The Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua Foundation was formed in 2010 to fund the retrofit repair and the preservation of the structural integrity of the historic and beloved mission. The Foundation’s intent is to raise funds to ensure that this landmark, an important piece of California’s history, is saved, so that visitors and the greater community can experience this historical treasure and its inspiring serenity for years to come. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation and independent from any religious organization.
