Aug. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Pittsburgh-based Seegrid Corp. (, is the leading in Robotic Industrial Truck manufacturer worldwide; industrial robots are creating more jobs in warehousing and manufacturing facilities. The company has recognized the economic change in manufacturing.  There is a strong increased demand for driverless industrial robots to transport goods horizontally without wire, tape, laser or other costly automated guided vehicle (AGVs) systems.  These industrial robots are manufactured in America and support American manufacturing and warehousing companies— keeping America at the forefront of innovation and technology.

Robotic Industrial Trucks provide safe, consistent and regulated truck movements that do the following:

•   Meet and exceed industry safety standards: ANSI/ITSD B56.5-2005, ANSI/ITSDF B56.1, NFPA 79, EN ISO 13849-1: 2006, (OSHA) 29FR 1910.178
•   Reduce overall facility traffic, worker miles traveled and improve worker ergonomics
•   Automatically slow down when they see an obstacle and self-start when the obstacle is removed, promoting consistent safe operating practices.

Seegrid’s robotic industrial trucks are provided in a variety of products and configurations.

The unmanned GP8 pallet truck transports products with vision-guided technology. Position the GP8’s forks under the pallets to move, input the route on the keypad and the Robotic Industrial Truck travels without wires, tapes or lasers. From putaway, transfers and selection to long hauls and cross-docking, the GP8 will reduce the cost per move. Extend workforce productivity, improve safety and lower operating costs while giving operations personnel truck and route control.

With the new GP8 Towing Attachment, customers have the power and flexibility of two machines in one. Firms are delivering pallets across the facility.  The solution is to utilize the unmanned GP8 in standard operation mode for vision-guided technology transport. Workflow requires cards to deliver products and components. Clients attach cars to the unmanned GP8 Towing Attachment, and have parts delivered across the facility without wire, tapes or lasers. Once deliveries are completed, the Robotic Industrial Truck returns for more work.

The unmanned GC4 provides the ultimate in Robotic Industrial Truck automation and flexibility. Built on an off-the-shelf Class I forklift chassis and equipped with Seegrid’s vision-guided autonomous navigation system, the GC4 automatically transports palletized loads throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments without the need for facility modifications, wires, tapes or lasers.
