Champagne & Diamonds Gala Supports Breast Cancer Patients in Colorado
Denver (Aug. 24, 2012) – Sense of Security’s premier fundraising event “Champagne & Diamonds” will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the Embassy Suites Denver, 1420 Stout Street starting at 5:30 p.m.
Breast cancer survivor Jacquelyn was one of hundreds of breast cancer patients each year grateful to have found Sense of Security in the midst of a traumatic time in their lives. “I had run out of funds. The criteria for help from some other places were so high.” A call from Edith Chavez, program manager at Sense of Security, relieved Jacquelyn’s financial stress during a difficult time. “Sense of Security was so comforting to me. I am back at work now, my health is good. I feel blessed.”
Sense of Security has helped more than 860 breast cancer patients in Colorado just like Jacquelyn with financial assistance for monthly bills such as rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation, groceries, insurance premiums, and other basic household expenses during treatment and recovery. Many are forced to stop work due to illness, while others take a leave of absence. The lack of income during this time creates devastating consequences to their household finances.
Champagne & Diamonds is an event that helps raise much needed funds for breast cancer patients receiving medical treatment. The public is invited to attend the gala. The evening includes silent and live auctions, dinner, program, entertainment, and dancing to Colorado’s premier event band Tunisia Band.
