Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- SAINT ALBANS, VT - The Handy Family of Dealerships, also known as handycars.com, found online at http://www.handycars.com, and comprised of Handy Toyota, online at http://www.handytoyota.com, and Handy Chevrolet, online at http://www.handychevy.com, both of St. Albans, VT, has just announced their continued support of the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) and the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser walk, taking place on October 21, 2012 at Dorset Park in South Burlington, Vermont.

As an annual supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Handy Family of Dealerships has been an integral piece of the puzzle that is the fight against one of the biggest health concerns of the modern era.  Effecting as many as 1 in 12 women in America, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women today.  To put it another way, estimates show as many as 226,870 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 with up to 39,510 people losing the battle with the disease.  This makes breast cancer one of the more aggressive forms of cancer with only an 82.6 percent likelihood of beating it (source:  WebMD, "Facts About Breast Cancer."  webmd.com, August 28, 2012).

With such startlingly high numbers of diagnosed breast cancer patients, terrifying death rates there from, and a health care situation in the United States that some easily describe as a crisis, the need for support of breast cancer research, sufferers, and their families has never been greater.  It's with these notions in mind that Handy Chevrolet and Handy Toyota (handycars.com/the Handy Family of Dealerships) continue to show their support year after year.

As the Handy Chevrolet Team ramps up their efforts to gain support in the form of donations, folks willing to join us in the fundraiser walk (or even promotional assistance to spread the word) should visit https://secure3.convio.net/tacs/site/TRR/MakingStridesAga... and search for Handy Chevrolet in the Join a Team section of the cancer.org website and join us via support or exercise.

Together the staff at Handy Chevrolet and Handy Toyota of St. Albans, VT is sure they can bring one very important donation to the table:  the ability to look breast cancer in the proverbial eye and shriek "we will not be intimidated and we WILL prevail."

For more information on the Handy Chevrolet Team, contact Chris Dugan at cdugan@handycars.com or Kerry Horton at kerryhc@sover.net.  Those willing to join us via a donation or participation can also go to https://secure3.convio.net/tacs/site/TRR/MakingStridesAgainstBreastCancer/MSABCFY13NE/2087517175?pg=tfind&fr_id=47483 and search for our team, at which point cancer.org site users will have the opportunity to decide how much of whatever measure they can or want to give.
