Andy McCumber Speaks at Florida Assisted Living Association’s 2012 Annual Conference

Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Andrew R. McCumber, Managing Shareholder at McCumber, Daniels, Buntz, Hartig & Puig, P.A., presented, “Plaintiff’s Theories, Regulatory Challenges, Defenses, and General Guidance on Depositions,” to attendees of the 2012 Annual Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) Conference.  

The seminar focused on the theories relied upon by plaintiff’s attorneys to include administrators personally in assisted living actions. The presentation covered the basics of the regulatory challenges and the policies behind the regulatory framework for assisted living facilities. The attendees learned the foundations of current liability law that permits suits against individual administrators without allegations that the administrator was personally negligent. Attendees also received guidance and suggestions on the best approaches to avoid being included and handling questions in a deposition, even if the administrator has not been included in the lawsuit.
