Only Several Days Left to Submit for the Taste of the World Art Contest

Aug. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- The 2012 Taste of the World Art Contest submission deadline is quickly approaching, with all submissions due on August 31. The contest theme is “Taste of the World”, leaving room to the artists for creativity of what they envision the Taste of the World to be. The contest is an opportunity for up & coming artists and seasoned artists alike to showcase their work. The Taste of the World event, occurring on October 4th, brings people together to learn about the many tastes that other cultures bring to Charlotte’s east side, otherwise known as the International District.  

The five Art Contest finalists will be featured in a special exhibition at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center and will be posted on the Taste of the World Facebook page in the weeks leading up to the event. The winner will receive two tickets to the event so as to be able to experience the taste tour, as well as to accept a $500 prize at the following dessert reception at The VanLandingham Estate. The winning artist will also have their piece feature at the event and promoted within all Taste of the World collateral, including the website, Facebook page, the Taste Guide event program, and more.

KEY DATES:
August 31 – Last day to submit artwork
September 5 – Five finalists are announced on Taste of the World Facebook page, one each week leading up to the Taste of the World event.
September 10 thru October 2 – Exhibition in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center
October 1 – Winner announced on Taste of the World Facebook page
October 4 – Winner attends Taste of the World event, is awarded the $500 prize, and the winning piece is featured on-site at the event.  This winning piece will also be used in the Taste of the World program and any other promotional material in relation to Taste of the World.
