Immediately following the “Electric Slide” festival goers and flash mobsters will have the opportunity to be screened, and receive information about the staggering statistics that affect African American men with the deadly disease. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Prostate Cancer tends to be a very “slow progressing disease.” Several studies have indicated that perhaps about 80% of all men in their eighties had undiagnosed prostate cancer when they died. Even more astonishing are the numbers affecting African American men. Though all men are at risk, African American men have higher rates of getting and dying from Prostate Cancer than men of other racial or ethnic groups in the United States.
