August 25, 2012, Dexter, Oregon -- Lost Valley Educational Center is hosting their annual Open House event, Lost Valley Fest, which will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012, beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m.  The event is free and donations are being accepted to benefit Lost Valley Educational Center and Parvin Butte.    

This year’s Lost Valley Fest Open House will feature local favorites The Conjugal Visitors, who will bring their brand of mountain/bluegrass/Americana music to the Lost Valley meadow at 8:00 p.m. The Conjugal Visitors were voted Best Acoustic Band in the Eugene Weekly's "Best of Eugene" Reader’s Poll.

Tours, Entertainment, Workshops, Demonstrations, and Local Treats.  

The Lost Valley Fest Event Schedule is as follows:  Beginning at 4:00 p.m. with another tour at 5:00 p.m. there will be Tours and Trail, guided tours through Lost Valley; at 6:00 pm there will be a Singing Alive Workshop; at 7:00 pm there will be an Open Mic, followed at 8:00 pm with The Conjugal Visitors performance.  A bonfire in the meadow is planned for the end of the evening.  

The event will also feature a Lost Valley through the years display, which will include photos and historical information regarding the Lost Valley land and community; there will also be a screen printing booth where the Lost Valley “Buddabaga” and other designs will be created on t-shirts (guests are invited to be green and bring an already-owned t-shirt to print on.)  The Lost Valley Fest will also include games and a face painting booth, as well as alternative energy demonstrations:  cooking popcorn with a parabolic solar cooker, and blending smoothies or powering a washing machine with pedal powered appliances.  

PizzAldo will be selling wood fired pizza, our neighbor, Andy Whitedove, will be biking in frozen treats which will also be for sale; there will also be a Bake Sale for donations.

Overnight Accommodations Available

Camping will be available in the meadow for Saturday evening.  Rustic rooms are also available for at $25 per night, single occupancy and $40 per night, double occupancy for this event with advance reservations.
