RAIDER LEGEND TO HOST 4th ANNUAL TED HENDRICKS & FRIENDS Charity  BOWLING EVENT

Benefiting the OAKLAND and ALAMEDA Boys and Girls Clubs and the Center for Alzheimer's and Dementia Research September 22, 2012


Raider Legend and Hall of Famer Ted Hendricks will host his 4th Annual Ted Hendricks & Friends Bowling Event on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the AMF South Shore Lanes in Alameda, California from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Sponsored by Walgreens, this family friendly afternoon will feature Bowling, Food, Fun, commemorative Gift Bags & Mementos, Raider Cheerleaders and Raider Legends. This year’s event will benefit the Oakland and Alameda Boys & Girls Clubs and the Center for Alzheimers’ and Dementia Research.

“For the past 12 years I have hosted an annual charity and golf event in my hometown of Miami, Florida. While it has been a very successful event allowing us to assist local Miami youth and senior based charities, I have not forgotten the hard working people and devoted Raider fans of the city where I experienced the thrill of 3 Super Bowl Championships.

Each year as our family gathers in Oakland for an annual family weekend together, we have talked about starting an annual bowling tournament to help benefit local causes in the Oakland area. We began our charity event  - now called the FOOTBOWL - 2 years ago and with our initial success, we agreed to continue to kick off the opening weekend and Raider season with a charity-based event.  I invite corporations, families, and people who what to come out to have a great time while raising funding for three great programs to sign up and join our efforts” it is a chance to rub elbows with Raider Legends and enjoy a family Saturday afternoon as well.” said Hall of Famer, and host Ted Hendricks.  

Corporations, teams, individuals and groups are urged to sign up as soon as possible.  Spots are limited.  Sponsors such as Walgreens Inc., Oakland Raiders, AMF South Shore Lanes in Alameda, Great American BBQ of Alameda, Schwan’s Foods, Steve Cook’s Bowling, Valentine Capital Management and more are stepping up to help support the event.  Participants will all receive a gift bag with Raider memorabilia, commemorative Shirts, Hats, Raffle tickets that may win them upcoming game tickets, side-line field passes at an up-coming home game or dinner with Ted Hendricks & Friends.  A great American BBQ dinner, Beverages, bowling are included in the fee.

Participation slots for the event are available this year along with limited corporate sponsorships.  Team entrée fees start at $300 for a team of 4.
