Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. Awarded Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Foundation Grant

Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link) awarded a Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Foundation Grant to Support its Math and Science Career Academy Program Events for San Francisco Bay Area youth.

Aug. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc, (SEM Link) was awarded a Dreyer's Foundation Small Grant Award to support its San Francisco Bay Area Programs. This funding will support our Math and Science Career Academy fall events in the San Francisco Bay Area to expose youth to hands on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities, STEM career exploration and real world application of STEM. These events include the STEMposium at the Life is Living Festival, in partnership with Youth Speaks and The I.S.I.S. Project, on Saturday October 13 at DeFremery Park in Oakland.  The other events the grants fund will support are National Chemistry Week Celebrations at selected schools and community organizations and our participation in the San Francisco Bay Area Science Festival.

The Dreyer's Foundation is based in Oakland, California and it the charitable arm of Dreyer's Inc., a Nestle company. “The Dreyers Foundation is committed to supporting community organizations and provides assistance through monetary and production donations whenever possible. We are delighted to be able to support your program” Kelly Su’a Dreyer Foundation Coordinator. This current award is the second grant that SEM Link has received from the Dreyer’s Foundation.  SEM Link received its first award in 2011 to support its 1st Annual San Francisco Bay Area STEM Career Fair in February 2011.
