Disabled Veterans & Employment Challenges: Cornell University Researcher, Hannah Rudstam, Provides

Aug. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Eastern North Carolina – This weekend the guest expert on Military Mainstream is Hannah Rudstam, a Cornell University researcher at the Employment and Disability Institute. Rudstam completed a report this year on U.S. military veterans with disabilities and their employment challenges.  Coach Jaynine and Hannah will discuss the pros and cons of identifying oneself as a disabled veteran on a resume.  Retired United States Marine Jaynine Howard is the Coach for the Military and host of Military Mainstream on The Talk Station each Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 7:30am on FM 107.1 and WJNC 1240 AM.  Military Mainstream is the radio show for Military Veterans and their family members.

Rudstam’s research revealed “65% of employers incorrectly believe veteran applicants must tell potential employers about their disabilities as well as 27 to 30% of employers are unsure about or did not agree with specific benefits such as improved customer relations of hiring veterans with disabilities”
